Stand firm men

It's clear in scripture that we are not meant to be quarrelsome. We are not a people who bring strife or difficulty into the lives of those around us. However, it's also clear in scripture that we are to have zeal which is energy and passion to move forward the agenda of the Lord. We are to be strong. Hard as rock. Sometimes Christian men think that they are to be soft, so caring as to be willing to take any hit or to be able to surrender our preferences at every turn. The Lord goes forth like a warrior. He will arouse his zeal like a man of war. A war cry rallies those who are fighting alongside the warrior to greater courage and determination. Our God will be victorious! So shall we! While we are not meant to be men who are stiring up strife or are quarrelsome We are meant to absolutely stand firm for that which we believe in. Perhaps there is some work to be done in making sure we know what we stand for. The Gospel is not an area of compromise. The truth is the truth and any slight adjustment thereof makes it into a lie. To live that way means we must be prepared to fight. We must take the sword of the spirit and with its sharp and heavy blade crush the enemies of the Lord. The sword of the spirit is the word of God. The enemies of the Lord are Satan, demons and evil spirits, antichrist teachings, the desires of the flesh, and the world's system as it stands against God's desire to see all men come into relationship with Himself. Let us act like men and stand up for the truth that saves souls, replaces hearts of stone with hearts of flesh, and makes men eternal in Jesus.
