many churches much possibility of getting it wrong

It just occurred to me that sometimes in wanting to get things right, even the will of God, we actually make things harder for those who are somewhere not quite caught up with us. We want to make sure our choices are correct, that we have cut obvious temptations out of our life and that we are reaching new heights in Jesus. The problem is, there are people who are watching us and even following in our footsteps and our diligence amounts to little more than a stumbling block for them. We refuse to eat food sacrificed to idols and they don't even have that decision on their radar yet. We teach giving faithfully and they haven't even thought things through that they might have to give.

The many churches of the world seem to be an example of the problem. I think there probably are as many different ways to be the church as there are groups of people who want to be the church but then that puts people in the place where they have to find a church and they have to choose from several opportunities. We want them in our church or in rarer cases we really DON"T want them to come to our church. People have to find their church home without the clarity of having fewer choices.

After all is said and done, the right one is the right one according to what God says but it may not have the programs that people are looking for, actually probably won't, because they are not there yet. It probably doesn't look perfect. God will say and we are meant to know the mind of Christ but because there is so much variety we are asking young believers or believers who haven't necessarily grown to where they are supposed to be to make a choice that outside God they would not be able to make .

I suppose this is why churches must have an understanding of the kind of people the church is supposed to be reaching, not speaking judgmentally but season of life, families, professional, etc. If anyone would fit that probably would be ideal but then it probably never is exactly like that.

Let us lead them to Jesus, be better people and a better church , and I suppose let us be sensitive to making the decision in as Godly a way as possible.
